This is a print I made on a found piece of Douglas Fir. It’s actually a picture of one of my tattoos. The original was made in 2002 as a gift for a dear friend who retired from the school I was teaching at at the time.
My name is Danny Montoya and I began key&kite Woodworking as a side project during my twelve years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. I recently quit teaching and have since been designing and creating a myriad of custom pieces full time.
My work is constructed mainly of reclaimed/repurposed or found wood, palettes and scraps. Some of my work can be found on Etsy but I mainly create custom pieces through commission.
